Would you have to be out of your mind to spend RMB 100,000 on a domestically-built electric motorcycle? Perhaps, perhaps not — but the performance and range figures behind this machine are genuinely explosive. Haowai has officially launched the SENMENTI ONE, the second model in its SENMENTI series, with a starting price of RMB 99,800. That is a slight step down from the SENMENTI 0's RMB 126,800 starting point, yet it remains a price that most riders will still find hard to swallow.

Haowai clearly has the confidence to price the SENMENTI ONE this high. The bike is powered by a mid-mounted, liquid-cooled permanent-magnet synchronous motor rated at 35 kW with a peak output of 74 kW, and it produces a staggering 894 N·m of torque. Top speed reaches 200 km/h, and it sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds — figures that arguably make it the ceiling of China's production electric motorcycles. Apart from its own sibling, the SENMENTI 0, it appears to have no real rival.

The SENMENTI ONE is the world's first electric motorcycle to feature a 400V integrated three-in-one powertrain platform, paired with a 16.9 kWh original lithium battery. It supports DC automotive charging piles and is compatible with fast-charging protocols across mainland China, Europe and the United States: 10 minutes of charging adds 100 km of range, and the maximum range reaches 300 km. It also offers 3.3 kW of external discharge (V2L) power. Official reference range figures stand at 300 km on city roads, 210 km on suburban roads and 115 km on the highway.


The bike is fitted with a 7-inch TFT instrument display and offers four riding modes — Rain, Standard, Sport and Custom — with adjustable levels of regenerative braking. It also comes with heated grips, a heated seat and cruise control. A dedicated smartphone app unlocks a wide range of functions, including real-time vehicle status monitoring, digital key sharing and keyless unlocking.

For the running gear, the front runs dual discs with four-piston calipers, while the rear uses a single disc with a two-piston caliper; ABS and eTCS are fitted as standard. Suspension consists of 41 mm KYB inverted front forks and a KYB mid-mounted rear shock. Tyres are sized 120/80-R16 at the front and 160/60-R14 at the rear.

Clearly, the Haowai SENMENTI ONE is fast, richly specified and offers impressive range — a genuine flagship among domestic electric motorcycles. But its price already reaches far beyond what ordinary consumers can accept, and it is well out of reach for the everyday electric-bike crowd. For most of us, then, it is a machine to admire and learn from — a glimpse of just how far China's electric motorcycles have come.
